I’m a journalist and broadcaster, specialising in telling stories that grab me. I wear many hats because I don’t see the point in restricting my interests. From culture to politics, if something calls to me, I’ll answer.
This approach has taken me into some of the world’s biggest newsrooms and freshest start-ups, including producing work for The New York Times, The Guardian, the BBC, Mill Media and gal-dem.
I’m an experienced yapper, aka I make and present podcasts. I received extensive broadsheet press coverage and multiple Ambie nominations for my work on Human Resources, a narrative documentary podcast on transatlantic slavery, created with Broccoli Productions. Right now, I present If I Speak for Novara Media, which was named as one of the Guardian’s Best Podcasts of 2024.
I’ve created commercial content for multiple institutions, including the Wellcome Collection, the Arts Council and the Institute of Coding. I also found time to co-write a bestselling memoir for a celebrity client, which was both a beautiful process and resulted in a much-celebrated book.
You might catch me on TV too. I make regular appearances on Sky News, BBC Politics Live and Channel 4. I’m lucky enough to be frequently invited to give guest lectures on journalism at top universities, including City, Cambridge, Exeter and Loughborough. In 2023, I taught a features writing module at UCL.
I’ve got a Substack as well, to keep my personal essay writing muscles limber. Like many, I’m active on social media, although I’ve elected to deactivate my X and Bluesky profiles. In both the physical and digital worlds, I like to go where you can really engage with people.
